Carmelite Vocations Retreat 2017
Do you feel called to Prayer?
The Carmelite tradition highlights the importance of contemplative prayer. By spending time in silence and meditating on the Scriptures, Carmelites gain a deeper understanding of the presence of God in their own lives and in the world.
Do you feel called to Community?
The Carmelite vocation is a call to community. Through praying together each day, sharing meals, and holding everything in common, Carmelites seek to deepen their relationship with Christ and give living witness to solidarity in faith.
Do you feel called to Service?
Carmelites work in a variety of ministries, including parishes, education, chaplaincies, friaries, and counselling services. Although the ministries are varied, Carmelites are committed, through their life in common, to building up the Kingdom of God in the world.
Perhaps, you are being called to be a Carmelite.
If you are between 18-35 years old and would like to explore your vocation with the Carmelites, we invite you to join us for a vocations weekend. The next weekend will take place in Dublin on Easter Weekend (Thursday 13th - Sunday 16th April).
The aim of this weekend is to provide an opportunity for those who wish to explore and consider the possibility of following a Carmelite vocation.
Over the weekend we will discuss various aspects of Carmelite Spirituality. In joining the Carmelite Community for the celebration of the Easter Liturgies, there will also be time for silence, prayer and reflection. It is hoped that, on this weekend, the participants will be given an initial experience of Carmelite community life.
If you would like to join us for this weekend, or would like to know more, please contact Fr. Dave Twohig in the Vocations office, Gort Muire.
